The Legends

Beninati’s vivid imagery has blossomed into a painting that comes alive on canvas.

This is Carlo Beninati's Italian American painting entitled “The Legends”.  Names such as Joe DiMaggio, Vince Lombardi, Eddie Arcaro are just a few on this masterpiece. This lithograph of sports heroes has been displayed in such distinguished places as the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Also, prominent corporate giants, like automobile czar Lee lacocca, ex-Italian Prime Minister Sandro Pertini and entertainer Frank Sinatra, have this work of art hanging in their homes and personal offices.

Also, “The Champions” honors the 62 Italian American boxing titalists dating back to the first champ Gaspare Leone (1894) to the 1980’s and lightweight Vinny Pazienza. What sets this painting apart from the rest is quite historical. The evolution of time from Ellis Island through Prohibition, the radio and television ages of the 40’s and 50’s to the brutal wars of Vietnam. Finally, the painting returns full circle to the progress of the space age and NASA’s Challenger missions amid the glow of the Statue of Liberty.
