The historic signing of the fine art limited edition lithographs- titled
"Anthony Muñoz". Pictured are the football legend Anthony Muñoz.; William P. Pugh, Athletes In
Action Director; and artist Carlo Beninati.
"Raised by my mother in Southern California, I always loved sports. In
college, I pitched for USC, helping my team win a World Series, while my dream
of playing professional football was nearly shattered due to three knee
injuries. Rehabilitating my knee took hard work, but after undergoing my most
serious surgery for a ligament tear my senior year, my wife (De De) and I were
able to read the Bible and pray. The decision we made to make Jesus the Lord of
our lives provided encouragement and hope.
I fought back that season to play in the Rose Bowl and help USC win a national
championship. Following the season, I became the first round draft choice of the
Cincinnati Bengals.
The honors and recognition received in my sport have been nice, but compared to
my relationship with God and my family, the accomplishments mean little. A
man’s character is better judged by his family and faith than by his fame."

Artist Carlo Beninati
It's been an incredible honor for me to have been commissioned
by Athletes In Action to create this original oil painting of football legend
Anthony Muñoz.
Limited edition prints of the painting have been produced to
be given to donors in appreciation of their support to Athletes In Action. Each print numbered and signed by the artist and personally
signed by Anthony Muñoz.
While producing the painting, I was always aware that each
stroke was guided by a higher power. It was almost as if I was watching
someone else create this tribute to a truly wonderful man.
From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank director
William P. Pugh, Anthony Muñoz., and all the dedicated staff at Athletes In Action.
I look forward to creating a series of images of the
legends that support this divinely inspired organization.
